About Don Brown
He was born in 1965 at Hermann Hospital in Houston. His parents shared custody of Don for the majority of his youth so he spent much of his time living in the Hiram Clark area of Houston, Texas and rural areas of Vidor, Texas.
Though education has always been a passion for him, he did not have the opportunity to attend a college or university for more than a semester at a time because of the costs of doing so. He does continue to believe education is a fundamental foundation to success. He is working with educators to help solve the problem of lagging science and math proficiency developing in this nation, and has focused on how to deliver a quality education to everyone wanting to receive one while attempting to make said education affordable for all.
The spirit of entrepreneurship bit Don Brown at a very young age. In the mid to late 1980's he owned and operated several telemarketing and door to door marketing firms. In 1989, he became interested in the financial recovery industry. He remained in that industry as a top producing agent, unit manager or operations manager at some of the top agencies in the country until 1999 when he received an opportunity to matriculate into the mortgage industry. He quickly knew he had found his ideal career. He served as a branch manager for the second largest privately held mortgage brokerage company in the nation for 10 years. In July, 2011 he purchased Silverstone Mortgage along with his business partner, Victor Yum. They have made some financial sacrifices to mold the company into a mortgage company that focuses on need more than profit. Their belief is to provide the lowest rate at the lowest cost.
It is with that spirit of service he has decided to stand for the American people to help bring civility back to halls of the US Congress. And hopes you will join him in that effort by contributing to the campaign.
